Mentally challenged woman sets forest fire in Pithoragarh

A mentally challenged patient set fire to the forest in Pithoragarh. Thousands of trees  have been reportedly burnt up. The  Environment Task Force personnel are engaged in extinguishing the fire.

Eco Environment Force planted 20 thousand hectares of local species along with buransh on 20 hectares of land in Dhuliyabagad of Kotayuda village, about six km from Munshyari’s Nachani town. The forest was slowy growing up.

It is alleged that on Tuesday, a mentally unstable woman set fire to the forest. The fire spread rapidly and gripped the forest. The new trees prepared in the forest came into the grip of fire and started burning. The villagers gave information to the Environment Task Force.
