Uttarakhand budget session to start today at Gairsain

The budget session of the state assembly is going to start from Bhadarisain (Gairsain) on Tuesday. Due to the first session of the year, it will start with the Governor’s address. Finance Minister Prakash Pant will present the budget for the upcoming financial year in the House on 22nd March. All administrative preparations have been completed for the session.

Chief Minister Trivandrum Singh Rawat with his cabinet colleagues reached Gairsain late in the evening. Most of the MLAs of the BJP and the opposition have also reached the session. After the completion of the successful tenure of one year, the government is entering into a budget session with confidence, the opposition is ready with all the issues for the siege of the state government.

For the first time, the budget session of the State Legislative Assembly is being organized in Gairsain. In the winter session held in Gairsain in December last, the government had come here with a supplementary budget. The program of the House from 20 to 24 March has been decided by the Working Group. On Tuesday, the first day of the session, will be the speech of Governor Dr Krishna Kant Paul at 11 am, while the Assembly Speaker will read the address. The annual budget will be presented on March 22. Assembly session will also be held for the first time on Saturday. On this day, continuous development goals will be discussed.
Assembly Speaker Premchand Agarwal said that more than a thousand starred-unstarred questions have been raised so far from the MLAs. The sequence of questions still continues. According to the assembly secretariat, the number of petitions is more than two hundred. A total of 13 bills, including pending bills, will be presented in this session. As far as preparations for the Opposition are concerned, despite being very less in the numbers, the Congress is eagerly awaiting for the session.

According to Congress state president Pritam Singh, the opposition will ask the opposition government on issues like the NH 74 compensation scam, the status of law and order, misbehavior against woemn by ruling party MLAs, increase in medical fees three times and unemployment.
