Uttarakhand assembly budget session to begin from June 14

The budget session of the Legislative Assembly is going to start from Tuesday. A budget of over Rs 63 thousand crore will be presented for the financial year 2022-23 on the first day. In the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held on Monday evening, the agenda was fixed for the session till June 16.

On the other hand, the opposition has made a strategy to surround the government on issues like inflation, unemployment, law and order, neglect of farmers during the session. In view of this, the government has also prepared itself to respond to the attacks of the opposition with facts and arguments. In such a situation, there is a possibility of the session being uproar if there is a war of words between the ruling party and the opposition.

The government had earlier decided to organize the budget session in the summer capital Gairsain, but in view of the Chardham Yatra and Rajya Sabha elections, it was later decided to convene it in Dehradun from June 14 to 20. This is the second session of the fifth assembly. The first session in March was very brief. Then in a two-day session, the government got the vote on account passed.

On Monday evening, in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee chaired by Speaker Ritu Khanduri, the agenda for the session from June 14 to 16 was stamped after discussing the legislative and parliamentary works. Finance Minister Premchand Agrawal will present the budget for the current financial year on Tuesday, the first day of the session.

This is the first full budget of the Dhami government. The MLAs have put 530 questions for the session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Premanchand Agrawal, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya, MLAs Pritam Singh, Mohammad Shahzad and Khajandas were present in the meeting.
