Bridge connecting to China border in Uttarkashi breaks
The Bridge (Valley Bridge) connecting the Indo-China border, which is five kilometers away from Uttarkashi, has broken. This has cut off contact between the district headquarters and 45 villages of Gangotri valley.
Apart from this, the army and ITBP personnel deployed on the border are also facing difficulties in supplying logistics. This the second time in three months that the Valley Bridge constructed by BRO has broken. Creating a new bridge till the Chardham yatra season begins is a big challenge for BRO.
With the breakdown of this valley bridge, close contact with 45 villages of Asi Ganga, Upla Taknaur of Bhatwari block of Uttarkashi district has been cut. At the same time, the bridge also served as a contact point with the posts of strategic targets of Nelang, Naga, Sonam, Junkang, Sumala, Neela Pani, etc and Indo-Tibet border police ITBP on the India-China border. If the alternative bridge is not built quickly then there may be a crisis of ration etc. in the posts of Army and ITBP.
