Mass protests throughout India against changes in SC/ST act
Against the Supreme Court’s decision on the change in the SC / ST Act, a large number of Dalit organizations have called for a shutdown today. Earlier, the Supreme Court expressed concern about the misuse of the SC / ST Act and made some changes in it. On the court’s decision, the Dalit organization is making a plea that it would weaken the law.
The biggest impact of this bandh is expected to be seen in Punjab, after which security arrangements have been extended in the entire state. The Punjab government has ordered the closure of bus and mobile internet services too. Along with the army, paramilitary forces are kept on alert. Apart from this, schools have also been closed and buses will not run here.
Internet service suspended in Punjab
A spokesperson of the Punjab government said that in view of the restrictions on those who spread rumors on the social media, the mobile internet services will be suspended in the state from 5.00 am to 11.00 pm on Sunday.
