Air India pilots threaten to go on strike if dues not cleared immediately

There is bad news for Air India travelers. Air India, a public sector airline caught by the crunch of cash, has been warned by its pilots that if their Flying Allowance is not immediately paid then they will strike. If this happens then the airline may have to cancel the flights. A few days ago, Air India had stopped flying 19 of its planes because their spare parts were not found. In such a case, if the pilots strike, it will create a crisis for air travelers.

The July Salary was disbursed on August 14

On August 14, the airline had paid basic salaries of July but the pilots are not satisfied with it. They say that Basic Salary is only 30% of their total salary. The maximum part is in the Flying Alliance, which is not being paid. Indian Commercial Pilot Association (ICPA) has written a letter to airline management.

Letter written by pilots to Air India management

In a letter to the management Air India said that” pilots have got Basic Salary while the entire staff is getting full Salary. Flying allowance are not being given to pilots and cabin crew, which is the main part of our salaries. We demand that it be paid immediately.”
