Bloggers bus bound for Gangotri and Yamunotri flagged off from Rishikesh

What happens when the top travel bloggers of India go on a trip together? Chances are they will discover something unusual, document their journey, and will reach out to aspiring travelers to diversify the image about the place.

To explore the bliss, excitement & thrill and to discover the hidden jewels around Yamunotri and Gangotri, 7 chosen travel bloggers of India, handpicked by Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) started a 5 day road trip to Gangotri and Yamunotri on 16th May 2018. The ‘Bloggers Bus’ was flagged off from Rishikesh at 6 a.m. and will be taking the travel bloggers to Barkot, Janki Chatti, Yamunotri, Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Bhairavghati and the nearby places.

According to Satpal Maharaj, Hon’ble Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand, “this is our first edition of Bloggers Bus programme and we have purposely chosen Yamunotri and Gangotri as the foremost destinations. Soon, we will be flagging off other Bloggers Buses to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Tehri and various places of Kumaon. We are hopeful that these enthusiastic bloggers will add a new perspective to these tourists’ places and will give a whole new dimension”

Dilip Jawalkar, IAS, Secretary Tourism added that “The idea behind the program is to diversify the image of the destinations which are so far known only for religious tourism. A perfect blend of natural beauty and adventure, the Chardham Yatra is an escapade from the mundane life towards a spectacular journey filled with diving blessings, fun and frolic; something which cannot be described in words until and unless one experiences it. Besides the blessings of almighty, the beauty of nature, the thrilling treks, spiritual ambience of picturesque snow-capped Himalayas, the lush green dense forests and the large valleys form the perfect ingredients, help you to unwind yourself. Through the ‘Bloggers Bus’ programme, we wanted this young group of travel bloggers to encapsulate their travel experiences in their blogs and bust the myth for once”

Some of the bloggers appeared to show early signs of excitement and marked the beginning of their journey by documenting the experiences on the social media.

“I am looking forward to this trip with great enthusiasm. When I first heard about Yamunotri and Gangotri I only thought about temples. But I got to know that this journey is much more and beyond. I’m very excited to discover the beautiful trails and scenic views and I’m sure that this trip will bring a lot of surprise for me and for my fellow bloggers”- added Namita Kulkarni, a yoga teacher, writer and world traveler, currently based in Mysore. She loves going where she’s never been, chasing misadventures and living to tell the tale. She writes about her inner and outer expeditions on her blog ‘Radically Ever After’. She is ranked as one of the top 50 Yoga blogs worldwide and one of the top 5 solo women travel blogs.
