Caught on Cam: Video of vendor making tea from toilet water goes viral

After a video was found by the South Central Railway (SCR) using toilet water from the toilet, the railway has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on a vending contractor. In a video spreading on social media for some days, a vendor is seen walking out of the toilet with a tea / coffee box, which shows that water was being mixed in the coaches from inside the toilet.

The video, which was shot last year, but has recently surfaced online suggests water from a train toilet was being used to prepare tea and coffee. In the video, which has now gone viral on social media, a vendor can be seen coming out of a train toilet with tea and coffee cans, indicating that water was mixed in the cans from inside the toilet.Railways had initiated a probe into the matter. The incident occurred in train number 12759 Chennai Central – Hyderabad Charminar Express at Secunderabad Railway Station in December, 2017.

“On the basis of the inquiry, stringent action has been taken up against the Train Side Vending contractor for the section between Secunderabad and Kazipet, P. Siva Prasad, with whom the identified vendor in the video was employed. A penalty of Rs 1 lakh has been levied on the licensee, through IRCTC,the contracting agency,” Railways said in a statement.
