Met Department issues another dust storm alert for Uttar Pradesh

Meteorological department has expressed the possibility of storms and storms in different places on Saturday and Sunday in Uttar Pradesh. According to estimates, in many western and eastern districts of Uttar Pradesh, there will be a storm surge in the next 24 hours with strong winds. These include the surrounding areas including Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Siddhartha Nagar and Balrampur. The state government has issued instructions to the district officials to remain alert.

According to Uttar Pradesh Meteorological Department director JP Gupta, there is a possibility of storm coming in next two days. There will be heavy sunlight on both days, but due to strong winds it will have less effect. Even in Agra, Central UP and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, May 13 and 14 may also worsen the weather. Rain may also occur in some places. Deputy Commissioner of Relief Sanjay Kumar has issued instructions to all the District Magistrates of Uttar Pradesh to be alert.
According to the Meteorological Department, Lucknow’s minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius on Saturday, while the maximum temperature could be up to 40 degrees Celsius. Apart from Lucknow, the minimum temperature in Gorakhpur was recorded at 25 degree Celsius, Kanpur 22.4 degree, 24 degrees in Varanasi, 22 degrees in Allahabad and 25 degrees Celsius in Jhansi.

This week, 18 people were killed and 27 others were injured when the storm struck in different parts of the state. Last week too, 80 people were killed due to heavy thunderstorms and storms. Agra was the worst affected in this. Last year, due to the  storm, many schools were kept closed as a precautionary measure in the state.
