National level footballer dies after being hit in the stomach during match

Umesh Murmu, a national footballer of India and Jap 4 bokaro soldier, died after sustaining an abdominal injury during the game. Umesh was a resident of Dhowapahad village of Shankarpada of Dumka.

Umesh Murmu was seriously hurt during the 15th state level sports competition in Devghar. The competition was held from May 5 to 12. In the match of May 11th, Umesh Murmu had an internal injury in the stomach with the rival team Jap-6 Jamshedpur’s player’s boot. He was referred to Dumka from Devghar. After treatment in Sadar Hospital and a private clinic, the family members took Umesh Murmu to Siuri (West Bengal). Doctors also gave up in Siuri. Umesh Murmu was then taken to Bardhaman on Sunday and died on the way.
On Monday, the post mortem of the body of the young man was done at Dumka Sadar Hospital. Bokaro Police Men’s Association President Guddu Herange, Secretary Pradeep Mahato, Field Minister Ranchi Gayriel Soren, Hav Rajesh Rajak reached Dumka on the information of the young Umesh’s death. The Bokaro Police Men’s Association personnel said that Umesh Murmu was a national level footballer. He had also played in Delhi, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir.
