Trainee IFS officer tests positive for Coronavirus in Uttarakhand

Coronavirus has been confirmed in a 26-year-old trainee of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy, Dehradun. He has been admitted to Doon Medical College Hospital. With this, the first case of coronavirus was reported in Uttarakhand on Sunday. The trainee officers returned a few days ago with a team visiting several countries including Spain.

CMO Dehradun Dr. Meenakshi Joshi has confirmed the coronavirus in Trainee IFS. Teams of administration and health department are constantly contacting various hospitals and institutes regarding Coronavirus infection. In this connection, samples of six more patients, including two trainee IFS, were sent to Dr. Sushila Tiwari Government Medical College, Haldwani Lab on Saturday.

62 IFS trainees went on training tour

Different groups of 62 trainee IFS of Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy had returned from training tours from different countries recently. Due to this, everyone was screened. After this, on Friday, four trainee IFS samples were sent for investigation. Coronavirus COVID-19 was confirmed in a trainee on Sunday. Due to this, the general public has been banned from entering the Forest Research Institute (FRI).

Movement of common people also stopped

Arun Singh Rawat, director of the Forest Research Institute, said that Indira Gandhi National Forest Research is in the FRI campus. Due to this, the movement of common people has been stopped here as a precautionary measure. Signs of corona have also been found in a boy and a girl from Selakui in Dehradun.

After the implementation of the Pandemic Act in Uttarakhand, if a person is affected by corona and refuses treatment, the government can take action against them. Also, action can be taken against hospitals and medical personnel who refuse treatment.

Government spokesperson Madan Kaushik said that under the Act, if a person refuses to take treatment of the disease, then the District Magistrate can keep him in Isolation along with forcible treatment. Similarly, if a private hospital, medical college doctor or medical team refuses treatment to the patient, then action can also be taken against them.

Also, the government can also acquire private medical colleges and hospitals for the treatment of corona. Also, if a medical store is black marketing of sanitizers, masks or medicines, action will also be taken against them. The government has asked the CMO to immediately inform about the stay of foreign tourists in the hotels of the state. If any Indians have also come from abroad at present, the hotel will inform the CMO about their stay.
