PM Modi likely to celebrate International Yoga Day in Dehradun

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, as a chief guest, attended an Intellectual Conference, organized on the successful completion of four years of union government. The conference was held at IRTD Auditorium, Survey Chowk on Sunday. Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has special affection towards Uttarakhand. He said that on the occasion of the International Yoga Day on June 21, Prime Minister will be visiting Dehradun. Giving information about the venue, the Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Yoga Day, the likely venue could be near the FRI Building.

On the successful completion of the four years of the union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, while congratulating the Prime Minister and the fellow countrymen, said that for the all round development of the country and welfare of everyone, Modi government has taken several steps. The Prime Minister’s vision of New India is a path breaking initiative for putting the country on the path of prosperity and progress. At the international level, there has been an unprecedented increase in the honour and dignity of the country.

On the achievements of the successful four years of the union government, the Chief Minister said that during the four year tenure, India has touched new heights economically, in terms of social prosperity and development. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission, more than 7.25 crore toilets have been constructed in the rural and urban areas of the country. Cleanliness coverage has increased from 38 percent to 83 percent. For the first time in history, through Surgical Strike, a befitting reply to terrorism was given. In the past four years, the road transport works are being done in remarkably fast manner. There has been a 77 per cent increase in the National Highways contracts and 38 per cent increase in the National Highway construction. Under the National Health Security Mission, in the ‘Ayushman Yojana’, the treatment of serious disease like cancer will get cheaper by 15 to 20 per cent and poor families are being given insurance coverage upto Rs 5 lakhs. Essential medicines are available at less than 50 per cent rate at the Jan Aushadi centres.

He said that ‘Ujjwala Scheme’ was started in May 2016 and in just two years, more than four crore women have been given free domestic LPG connection thereby making their lives smoke free. The target of providing house to everyone under ‘Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana’ by year 2022 has been fixed. The centre government has abolished 1200 irrelevant laws. Prime Minister has promoted the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme in a big way and the results are fruitful. The provision of death penalty has been made for rapist of girls below the age of 12 years.

Chief Minister said that in wake of the Prime Minister approach of zero tolerance towards corruption, there is no corruption allegation on any union minster in past four years. The business has become easier under the GST system. The work on the Prime Minister’s ambitious Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train project is progressing speedily. Under the ‘Saubhagaya Yojna’, electricity has been provided to crores of houses. After 70 years of Independence, electricity has been provided under Deen Dayal Upadhyay rural electrification program to each village in the country. He said that special efforts have been made to double the income of the farmers. 1.5 times MSP on the production cost is being given to the farmers and 12.5 crore farmers have been given soil health cards.

Chief Minister said that whether it is road connectivity, air and railway services, rural electrification or solar projects, organic farming and cooperative, development of the new tourist destinations, approval of Science City in Dehradun, international level convention center in Rishikesh, reconstruction work of Sri Kedarnath Dham or ‘Namame Gange’ Programme, the union government has always kept the state along in its journey of development.
