Saudi Arabia to allow women drivers on road from June 24

Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are not allowed to drive, but here the change has started, and the result is that the conservative country has decided to allow women to drive. Director General General of traffic Mohammad al-Basmi said on Tuesday gave this information. In the official statement, Basmi said that all the requirements have been met for allowing women drivers in the country. In September, 2017, in the imperial order, it was announced to end the decades-old ban on women’s driving. Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world where women are barred from driving.

Basmi said that women of the age of 18 years or more will be allowed to apply for a driving license. Driving schools have been set up in five cities of the country and women from Saudi Arabia, who receive driving licenses abroad, will be trained in these schools. Women who obtained driving licenses from abroad can apply for a license from a separate process. In this, their driving skills will be tested.
