India beat Bangladesh to face Pakistan in U-19 World cup semi finals

The India Under-19 team kept its unbeaten run in the Under-19 World Cup. In the quarter-finals, the Indian team defeated Bangladesh by a huge margin of 131 runs and made it to the semi-finals of the World Cup. In this match, the Indian team batted first by winning the toss and scored 265  in 49.2 overs. Bangladesh, chasing 266 runs for victory, could not stay ahead of the Indian bowlers and the entire team was out for 134 runs in 42.1 overs. This was India’s fourth consecutive win in the Under-19 World Cup. In the semi-finals, India will now face Pakistan in Christchurch on January 30.

The most successful batsman on the side of the Indian team, Shubhaman Gill who scored 86 runs off 94 balls with 9 fours. Abhishek also batted well and scored 49 off 49 balls with the help of 6 fours. Captain Prithvi Shaw also scored 40 runs.

The Indian bowlers did not allow the batsmen to chase down the target of 266 for the win, and their wickets continued to fall at regular intervals. Fast bowler Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively. The most runs scored by Bangladesh was Pinak Ghosh who scored 43 runs. After this, none of the batsmen could reach the 20-run mark.
