Case registered against two for death of RTI activist

In the case of the death of RTI activist Pankaj Lamba in Sumanagar of Ranipur Kotwali area, the police have registered a case against two of his friends under sections of murder. Pankaj Lamba’s wife alleged that the two friends conspired and killed Pankaj along with many others. Police have started investigation.

RTI activist Pankaj Lamba (45) son Krishna Kumar was shot dead in a party late Friday night in Sumanagar. Kasim and Manav who were present with Pankaj Lamba in the party, informed the family about the incident. Both are friends of Pankaj. Both had told the police that during the party a minor girl fired the gun by accident and the bullet hit Pankaj Lamba’s throat. They took Pankaj to the hospital, where Pankaj died. Police on Saturday took both the licensee pistol and the revolver. Police registered a case in this case on Sunday morning. The police have registered a case based on the complaint.

Pankaj Lamba had been instrumental in the revelation of the scholarship scam. Pankaj was one of the people responsible for exposing the scam.
