Uttarakhand government employees to get 2 percent DA increment

The government has increased the dearness allowance (DA) by two percent of the state employees, educational institutions, municipal bodies and pensioners. This will benefit the employees from four hundred rupees to two thousand rupees per month. Encashment of increased dearness allowance will be available from the salary of the month of May.

On Wednesday, Secretary Amit Negi ordered this. From January to April, DA employees will come into the PF account, while the DA salary will be given in the form of encashment from May. This decision of the government will benefit the pensioners along with 2.80 lakh government employees, educational institutions and personnel of the state. Government employees have long been demanding raising the DA. Considering the increasing pressure on other allowances including DA, the government has decided to increase the DA. State employees were getting five percent DA so far, which will now be seven percent. Increased DA will have an additional burden of Rs 70 crore annually on the state government’s account.
