2 army personnel dead in car accident in Rudraprayag

Two Indian Army soldiers died after their Alto car fell into a ditch on Gholtir motorway. Both of them had come to their village on holiday these days. Both of them were cremated on Saturday.

According to the police, Jitendra Singh Chaudhary (31) son of Raje Singh Chaudhary and Naresh Singh Chaudhary (34) son Mohan Singh were the deceased. Jitendra of 22 Garhwal Rifles Kotdwar and Naresh was stationed in 16 Garhwal Rifles. On Friday, both of them reached Rudraprayag in the afternoon and then left for Gholtir went from here. After doing some shopping in Rudraprayag they left for the village.

A car near the Gholatir-Dandakhal Motor road, about 35 km away from Rudraprayag, went out of controlnear the Ghudsal village and met with an accident. The surrounding people immediately started the relief work by informing the police. Rescue Operations were getting hampered as it was evening with low visibility. Somehow the police pulled out of the dead body. Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police SP PN Meena said that the car had fallen quite down in the ditch. Jitendra has a six month old child, while Naresh has a daughter of six years and a son of two and a half years.
