4 cloudbursts reported in Uttarakhand; next 36 hours critical

Mother Nature once again has shown its formidable form in Uttarakhand. On Friday evening, Cloud bursts were reported from four places including Uttarkashi, Tehri. After which the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for the next 36 hours.

After cloudburst Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun is experiencing heavy rains. From the evening there are strong winds in the surrounding area. Apart from Uttarkashi, Tehri, Pauri and Balakot have also been cloudy. The SDRF team has been dispatched in these areas.

Due to bad weather in Badrinath highway was blocked in Uttarakhand which was opened after 8 hours. Now pilgrims of Badrinath and Gobindghat are being sent to Rishikesh. Besides, devotees visiting Badrinath and Hemkund have been stopped in Joshimath. As soon as pilgrims stranded in Badrinath Gobindghat will return the haltedĀ  pilgrims will be allowed to travel from Joshimath.

Earlier there has been a huge fire in the forests for the last few days in Uttarakhand due to which there is a lot of damage. The fire spread in the forests in different areas of Uttarakhand since last fifteen days.

It is noteworthy that even before in 2013, nature has shown its might in Uttarakhand. In June 2013, the event of cloudburst took the form of natural calamity, causing more than 4,500 people to die. For a long time also the Kedarnath shrine’s visit was stopped. Now again the work of re-establishment of Kedarnath is in progress.
