Attack on American newspaper office of ‘Capital Gazette’ leaves 5 dead

Media workers in the United States have been attacked. A gunman entered a newspaper’s Newsroom on Thursday in the Capital of the State of Annapolis, Maryland, and started firing indiscriminately. Five people have died in this incident and many have been seriously injured. Police reached the spot and arrested the attacker. The cause of the attack has not yet been ascertained.

The attacker was identified as 38-year-old Jarrod Ramos. It is being told that the man held grudge against the newspaper ‘Capital Gazette’. In 2012, the accused had filed a case of defamation against the newspaper, which was rejected by the court. In the year 2006, the court declared him a man of this criminal intentions.

American President Donald Trump has expressed his sorrow at the incident. He tweeted that this is a tragedy. He thanked those who helped journalists during the attack. At the same time, he has promised to take steps to prevent such incidents from happening.

Local policemen have refused any kind of terrorist attack possibility. Police say that the accused has done this because of personal animosity.
