Head Constable in Chattisgarh cites ‘wife beating’ as reason for leave application

A shocking case has emerged in Chhattisgarh’s Raigad district, where a policeman has asked for leave from his superior and to beat his wife. The policeman is stationed as head constable.

The family of the cop posted in the Chhattisgarh police is going to stage a protest on June 25 in the capital Raipur. From this case there was a stir in the police headquarters and the home ministry of the province. The government is trying to stop the family of the policeman from going to there.

Due to this, Head Constable Sanjay Kumar, posted in Raigad district, wrote a letter to the district Superintendent of Police. In which he has written that his wife belongs to a big political family. He does all the work just by the advice of the wife. But his wife, wants to join the family dharna on June 25 in Raipur.
Sanjay has written that he does not want his wife to go out in the demonstration, so it has become necessary to beat her to stop her from going there. But due to his family’s political connections, he is afraid that they could file a complaint against him.

It is written at the end of the application letter so that he is allowed to intimidate his wife and threaten to beat her. This letter remains a matter of discussion not only in Raigarh but in the whole state. The picture of the letter is also becoming viral in the social media. Although the action taken by the SP in response to this letter is unkown.
