Corona situation getting grim in Uttarakhand

There seems to be no end to rising number of corona infections in Uttarakhand. Almost everyday highest number of corona cases are being reported in the state. Friday was no exception. 9642 positive cases were reported in Uttarakhand which are the highest reported ever since the outbreak began last year.

So far 229993 people have been infected with coronavirus in Uttarakhand. With this, the number of active cases has also increased in Uttarakhand. At present, there are 67691 active cases in Uttarakhand.

Regarding the Covid related arrangements in the state, Uttarakhand Secretary Health Amit Negi told in a press conference held in the media center that sampling is being done in the state regarding Covid-19. So far, about 40 lakh sampling has been done in the state, there are around two lakh Covid patients in the state, out of which one and a half lakh patients have recovered, in the last 24 hours, about 4500 patients have returned home after getting healthy. The recovery figure is constantly increasing.

Secretary Amit Negi said that the testing rate in the state is per million and higher than that of the states. In the entire state, 17 lakh people have already received the first dose of vaccination, while five lakh people have also taken the second dose. He said that virtual OPD and e-Sanjeevani portal are continuously serving the remote areas in the state, in the initial phase, about 200 patients were being given free counseling daily through e-Sanjeevani. Free consultation is being provided through the portal.

4643 patients recovered from Covid-19 today while 137 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours. Dehradun remains the worst effected city in the state with 3979 cases. The seriousness of the situation can be gauged from the fact that even after imposing corona curfew Dehradun has witnessed more cases today than Mumbai.
