CM not education minister should apologize says suspended teacher

In Uttarakhand, the suspension and arrest of a woman teacher Uttara Bahuguna, in the Janata Darbar, is gathering steam once again. The education minister of the state has apologized to the victim on this whole incident. On this, the teacher said that the Chief Minister has insulted her in the filled room. Therefore, the apology should not be sought by the education minister but the chief minister himself.

On June 28, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was listening to the problem of people in the public’s court. During this, Uttara Bahuguna, 57, a school teacher, started praying for her transfer. On this, the Chief Minister refused her request saying this is was not the appropriate platform for such requests. The Teacher spoke of her age and working in hilly terrain for long enough to be transferred to Dehradun. The teacher had a heated argument with the CM after her request was turned down. On this, Trivendra Singh Rawat got angry and ordered the arrest and suspension of the lady teacher immediately.

In the order of the Chief Minister, the security personnel present there arrested the teacher. However, she was released after some time. Also, the Education Department dismissed the teacher. This case caught a lot of attention in the media and the chief minister’s behavior started to be severely criticized. On the other hand, the dismissed female teacher also claimed of being victimized by the corrupt.
