19 feared missing in Gaurikund landslide; 3 bodies recovered
Due to heavy rains and landslides near Gaurikund, two shops and a shed were washed away. Sector Officer Gaurikund NDRF SDRF reached the spot for rescue operations.
Bodies of three of the 19 people living in these have been recovered, while 16 others are missing. All these are feared to flow into Mandakini. Heavy rains had started in Kedarghati from late Thursday evening itself.
Today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will conduct a terrestrial inspection of the accident in Rudraprayag’s Gauri Kund, today at 12:00. Thr CM will reach Gauri Kund of Rudraprayag, where he will take information from the officials about the causes of the accident. The information about the missing people in the Gaurikund accident was obtained from the officials, the Chief Minister was going to inspect the situation of the Gaurikund accident on the previous day but could not go due to the weather not being clear, so today the CM will go to the spot and conduct an on-the-spot inspection. After the accident in Gaurikund, the Chief Minister had given instructions to evacuate people living in vulnerable places across the state.
