Pregnant woman dies after falling from city bus in Dehradun

An eight-month pregnant woman, deboarding from the city bus on a bus stand located in the village of Guniyal gaon, suddenly fell on the road after the bus moved suddenly due to which she lost control. The woman became unconscious after falling down from the bus. She was taken for treatment at Doon Hospital, where the doctors declared the woman dead. The police has taken the body into custody and started investigations. At the same time the police took the driver into custody. Jakhan Chowki in-charge Umesh Kumar said that Prabha Devi (21) wife of Narayan Singh resided in the rented room near the village of Guniyal with her husband. Both of them were married 15 months ago. Prabha was eight months pregnant and on Tuesday, was returning to her room from City Bus after taking medicines from the hospital. According to the police, the woman started getting off from the city bus at the stop located in the village of Guniyal gaon. The family members alleged that the bus driver moved the bus while Prabha was still deboarding it, due to the sudden jolt from the bus movement she lost grip and fell down. Due to falling on the stomach on the road, the woman became unconscious on the spot. The other passengers took her to Doon Hospital for treatment. But when they reached the hospital, the doctors declared the woman dead. Police have kept the dead body in Morgue for the post mortem of the dead body. Umesh, in charge of Jakhan Chowki, told that the police has started investigating the carelessness of the city bus driver on the spot. He said that the if family of the deceased will complain then the police will file an FIR. According to the police, the husband of the deceased woman runs auto in Dehradun.
