Suspended PCS surrenders in NH-74 Scam
Suspended PCS Teerath Pal in the NH 74 compensation scam surrendered before the SIT today. After this, the police took the interrogation to a secret place. According to the police, he will be presented in Nainital Court.
In the investigation of Gadarpur tehsil, the signatures of suspended PCS Teerath Pal were found in 3 of 143 cases on a back date. On this, the police began a search operation of him in Dehradun but could not find him. On Monday, Teerath surrendered to the SIT office.
About 300 crore NH-74 compensation scam
In March 2017, then Commissioner Kumaon suspected a scam in the construction of NH-74. On March 11, a case was registered in the SIDCUL police station on the application of ADM Pratap Singh Shah. After this, the investigation started by setting up the SIT. Since then, SIT has inquired more than 345 farmers of Jaspur, Bajpur, Kashipur, Rudrapur, Gadarpur, Sitarganj, Kichha Tehsil and sent 18 prisoners, including four PCS officers, to jail. 5804 pages have been filed against the accused and they have confirmed the scam worth Rs 211 crore. According to SIT sources, investigation of some cases of Bajpur tehsil along with Rudrapur, Gidarpur, Kichha Tahsil is in progress now.
