Taxi operators strike in Nainital leaves tourists stranded

During the bus operator’s strike, people had to face lot of difficulties, now the taxi operators have also gone on strike. With this, schoolchildren are also facing troubles along with the general public. According to the Supreme Court directive, private bus operators are on strike in the Garhwal and Kumaon division against the imposition of speed governor. The taxi operators were not involved in the strike yet. Now the jolt of his strike has increased the folly of the common man.

The taxi strike has had a direct impact in Nainital from business point of view. People had to walk long distances in the hill town due to taxi strike since the morning.
About eight hundred taxis are operated in the city. The children of many public schools, including St Josephs College, LPS, St. Mary, of the city travel in taxis. Tourists are also having problems due to the taxis strike.

Neeraj Joshi, chairman of the Taxi Travels Association, says that according to the Supreme Court directive, the strike has been called for the removal of the speed governor, the taxi permit logo and the removal of restrictions on Nainital and other demands.
