Pithoragarh emerging as paragliding hub in Uttarakhand

In view of the tourist season, the tourism department has also stepped up preparations. The Gangolihat area in the Pithoragarh district, which is most suitable in the field of adventure tourism, is also been readied for this. Shankar Singh, a member of the National Level Paragliding Committee and an international level pilot, has started it by successful flight and landing by selecting the site at Gangolihat for paragliding.

Pithoragarh and Munsiyari currently offer paragliding

Till now only two areas Pithoragarh and Munsiyari have been considered suitable for paragliding in the district. In Pithoragarh, international level paragliding competition has also been successfully organized. Renowned paragliding pilots of the country and abroad have described Pithoragarh as the best for paragliding. There are adequate sites for air velocity and flight and landing. In this sequence, pilot Shankar Singh has now selected the site for paragliding in Gangolihat.

The areas Malla Garkha, Jival, Pokhari, Bhama Pabhain of Gangolihat were found suitable for paragliding. Pilot Shankar Singh, originally from Gangolihat, has described the site as suitable. During this, he made a successful landing after flying from paraglider several times and said that soon a large level paragliding competition would be organized at Malla Garkha and Pokhari in Gangolihat. This event will also give a new height to the tourism business in Gangawali region.
