Baby Rani Maurya to take oath as Uttarakhand Governor on 26th August

Uttarakhand’s newly elected governor Baby Rani Maurya will be administered oath of governor on August 26 at 5 pm at the Raj Bhavan. She will replace Dr Krishna Kant Paul.

Baby Rani Maurya, has been appointed as the seventh Governor of Uttarakhand,  she will be the second woman governor of the state . Earlier, senior Congress leader Margaret Alva had taken over the responsibility of Governor in Uttarakhand. Since the formation of the state, Uttarakhand has so far appointed six governors. Among them Alva was the fourth governor. After this, Maurya will now take over the responsibility of the state as a woman governor.

Baby rani, wife of Pradeep Kumar Maurya, who retired as director of PNB,  living in Baluganj area of ​​UP, and currently PNB Advisory Board was not more active in politics till 1995. In 1995, when the Mayor of Agra was secured for the Scheduled Caste women, the BJP gave her ticket and she won. By staying Mayor for five years, she made efforts for the development of the city.
