Challans issued from today for second riders not wearing helmets in Dehradun

If even one of the two riders in a two wheeler is not wearing a helmet then the police have been instructed to issue a challan. If the rider does not have all the documents at the time of the challan, the two-wheeler will be seized. On the spot, if the entire documents of the vehicle were shown, the police will levy a penalty of Rs. 100 for the first time.

The High Court has ordered the strict implementation of the rule of wearing a helmet for pillion riders in a two wheeler. It was to be implemented strictly from August 1 on the directions of the court. But instead of starting the challan process, it was given 10 days to raise awareness among the people. Which was completed on Friday. SP Traffic Lokeshwar Singh said that on Saturday the campaign will run in the city wide. Along with the CPU, the traffic police will take action against those who do not wear helmets on a two-wheeler by checking from place to place.

The people sitting behind in two wheelers in many accidents lost their lives. Whereas, when the driver were wearing helmets, there was a slight injury. It is important that people take this rule seriously in terms of safety and security of themselves and their family rather than fear of fine or action.
