Former journalist Ashutosh quits AAP

After Independence Day, former journalist turned politican Ashutosh will bid adieu from AAP. He has resigned from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Although Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said that he will not accept his recognition in this life. Although Ashutosh had submitted his resignation to the party convener Arvind Kejriwal a few months ago, but it has not yet been approved. Soit is expected that now he will publicly announce to leave the party.

In his resignation, the reason for leaving the party was very personal. A senior AAP leader close to Ashutosh told media that he was feeling disoriented in the party due to the motive he had made in the party against corruption.

Hence he is not only retiring from AAP but also from politics as well. Ashutosh is likely to be active again in journalism. Just eight months before the general elections, it is a big setback for  Aam Aadmi Party.
During the 2014 elections, in the Modi wave, he got three lakh votes from Chandni Chowk, but lost to former Delhi Chief Minister, Dr Harshvardhan by one lakh votes. Nevertheless, he was ahead of the Congress’s Union Minister Kapil Sibal with 1.2 lakh votes.

Ashutosh’s differences with party leadership came during the Rajya Sabha elections last year when Kejriwal had given ticket to industrialist like Sushil Gupta. Also, he wanted to send Sanjay Singh to the Rajya Sabha.

But Ashutosh has said that his conscience does not allow him to go to the Rajya Sabha with Sushil Gupta. Should they get tickets or not, Sushil Gupta should not be sent to the Rajya Sabha.
