Ganga crosses warning mark in Rishikesh

Ganga was flowing above the warning mark at 339.50 meters. The Administration was alerted to the impact of excess water of 1.5 lakh cusec in Ganga. After 5 p.m. the water level started decreasing. On the other hand, the rainy river Chandrabhaga was also on the boom with Song river.

On Monday, the Ganga was flowing 2 centimeters above the warning mark throughout the day. Water level crossed the warning mark at ten in the morning. After this the water level continued to increase. At three o’clock the water level was 2 centimeters above.  From 5 P.M the water level began to fall. Weather Scientists Vikram Singh said that there will be torrential rains in the foot hills area in Champawat, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar. Along with this, normal rainfall is becoming more pronounced in the plain areas.

Chila-Barrage and Nilkanth road blocked

The Bean river was flowing with force due to rains in the area. This disrupted Chila barrage alternative route. The water level started decreasing in the evening at 4 o’clock in the Bean river. On the other hand, the movement of vehicles stopped at 10 in the morning on the Nilkanth road. About one hour later, removing debris could make the traffic normal.
