Heavy rainfalls cause landslides, roadblocks across Uttarakhand

Monsoon in Uttarakhand have wrecked havoc this year. Frequent landslides are occurring in the hills. Gangotri highway was closed near the Thirang, while Yamunotri highway, was closed due to landslide near Jungle Chatti, Dabarkot. Many National Highway’s were closed at different places due to landslides from continuous rains in the state. Due to this even debris clearing machines are having difficult time reaching the spot.

In Champawat district rains have effected daily life in the region. Due to heavy rains due to landslides, debris is coming out on the road. Causing the roads to be badly damaged. In view of the security of the people, the police has stopped the vehicles at Kakraliget, Chalthee and Champawat. Besides, other vehicles have been diverted to Devidhura Haldwani Marg. People are faced with a lot of difficulty due to mud and debris everywhere in the way.
