In Delhi, in April 2012, high security number were started to be plated in vehicles but surprisingly there are still 40 lakh vehicles in Delhi (2 Wheeler and 4 Wheeler) which are running without High Security Number Plate. The transport department has planned to launch a campaign against similar vehicles from next month. If your car does not have a high security number yet, you may also have to go to jail if caught.
The transport department has fixed deadline of October 13, in which vehicles without high security number plates, will have to replaced with high security number plate inside the fixed deadline. If someone does not do this, then after getting caught after October 13, they will have to pay 500 rupees in fine or they can be jailed for 3 months. However, a comprehensive public awareness campaign will be started before this. New vehicles are coming with high security number plate. Now, the process of making new number plates for the vehicles which are not High Security number plates will start from October 2.
There are currently 13 authorized centers in New Delhi to give new number plates. If a large number of people will be seen to make a new number plate, then the Transport Department has planned to improve these centers. In its awareness campaign will be run for the people. Apart from this, advertisements will also be given in newspapers.
