Trapped tourists rescued after water level in Kempty falls rises suddenly

Due to the continuous rains in Mussoorie on Sunday, the water level in the tourist spot Kempty Falls increased suddenly. Thereby, trapping many tourists on one side of the waterfalls as they were unable to cross the gushing torrent of water. With the help of the locals & the police, they were taken out safely after nearly an hour. On the other hand, the shops near the falls were flooded and even the goods kept in the shops were destroyed.

Giving information about this, local businessmen and shop owners told that due to the continuous rains in Mussoorie, the sudden floods of Sunday afternoon caused severe flooding of the Kempty falls area. Due to which water entered in shops built around the fall. At the same time the police prevented tourists and local people from going around the fall. The people had to face huge difficulties. At the same time the situation of jam on both sides of the road also occurred.
The route was blocked for about 1 hour after the huge quantity of debris near the Kandi khal on the Mussoorie Chakrata road, and a vehicle being stuck near Khayarasi on the same route. After the water was reduced only then the movement of the vehicles became smooth.
