Changing weather could bring fresh spell of rain, snowfall in Uttarakhand

After two days of clear weather, there is a possibility of rain again in northern India including Uttarakhand. The effect of western disturbance is going to be visible once again in the state. Due to which rain and snowfall can once again increase the problems of the people. The weather has been clear in the state for the last two days, due to which relief was felt from the cold, but the weather is about to change once again.

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of Western Disturbance will be visible from today. Snowfall and rain may occur in the state from February 9. The spell of rain and snowfall will last for at least two days. Fog and cold can also cause problems to people in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has advised people traveling to the mountains to be cautious.

The weather may start changing in Mussoorie and Chakrata including Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Nainital, Rudraprayag districts. On February 9, there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in high altitude areas in Kumaon. There is a possibility of rain and snow in six hilly districts. Other experts including the Meteorological Department are also appealing to the people to take instructions during this time. Last week there were reports of several tourists getting stuck on mountainous regions. The only solution to avoid this kind of trouble is to postpone travel as much as possible in bad weather. Roads are still closed at many places due to snowfall in the state. Gangotri and Yamunotri highways could not open. Many roads are still blocked in areas adjoining Chamoli, Almora and Nainital.
