8 dead in Bhilai steel gas pipeline blast

There was a blast on Tuesday morning in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai steel plant. 8 people have died in this incident. While more than a dozen people have been injured.

It is being told that the gas pipeline located in the steel plant has caused this accident. According to the eyewitnesses, there is an oven number 11 inside the plant, where repair work of gas pipeline was in progress. Soon there was a sudden explosion, that is why people present there could not get a chance to escape from there.
All the injured have been admitted to nearby hospital. On receiving information about the incident, the local district collector Umesh Agrawal reached the spot. According to them, 14 injured people have been admitted there till now. Bhilai area falls in the Durg district of Chhattisgarh.

According to P. Singh, Durg District Inspector General of Police (IG) more than 25 employees were working in the plant’s oven. At about 11 am, there was a sudden explosion in the pipeline. The officer said that after the accident, the personnel of police and rescuers have reached the spot, the injured are being rushed to the hospital.
