Corona threat looms over IPL as 2 more in Delhi Capitals contingent test postive

Worrying news has come out before the 30th match of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League. After the Physio Patrick of the Delhi Capitals team was found to be Corona positive, now more cases have come to the fore in the team. There is news of foreign players being found corona infected in the Delhi camp. On April 20, the team has to play its next match with Punjab.

Concern has increased everywhere since the corona cases came to the fore in the IPL. According to the sports website espncricinfo, two more members of the Delhi team have been found to be Corona positive. According to the information, one of the foreign players is said to have tested positive for Covid-19. It is worth noting that last Friday, the team’s physio Patrick Farhart was sent to Quarantine after being found corona infected.

 

In a statement given to PTI by BCCI, it was said, “Delhi Capitals was to leave for Pune today but the entire team has been asked to rest in their respective hotel rooms along with all the members. Corona protocol is being followed. RTPCR test of all will be done so that it can be known whether physio Patrick’s case of corona was alone or there are other cases in the team’s camp.

According to the information, Delhi was asked to change the plan to go to Pune for the next match. The team will now leave for the next match only after the RTPCR test of all the players on Monday. The Delhi team played its last match against Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Before this match played against Bangalore, the physio was found to be corona infected, after which there was suspense on the match. The match was conducted but after the end of the match, keeping in mind the social distancing, the players of the Delhi team did not shake hands with any player of the Bangalore team.
