According to the news of Hindustan Times, there is a huge shortage of funds in the Indian Army, due to which it has banned the allowances given as tour and training to its officers. The information about the ban on allowances was given on the website by the Accounts Division.

An army official said that such posts issued on the website have shown the poor image of the army. In the post of the Principal Comptroller of Defense Accounts (PCDA), TA (Traveling Alliances) and DA (Dearness Alliances) will not be given due to lack of funds. When funds come, allowances will be given. However the facility of live travel concession will continue.

It is being told that the impact of the ban on the allowance will be affected on several hundred officers. About 40,000 officers in the army, out of which about one thousand officers are always traveling either or are on temporary duty for joining a course, planning conference, court of enquiry and other things.
