CBI case: Supreme court orders CVC to complete investigation within 2 weeks

The country’s largest investigating agency, the CBI has now come to the highest court in the country. The petition filed by the CBI Director, Alok Verma and an NGO was heard today in the Supreme Court.

While hearing the CBI case, Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that he will look into the matter, he has asked the CVC to complete its investigation within the next two weeks, the investigation will be under the supervision of retired judge AK Patnaik of the Supreme Court. Chief Justice said that this matter in the welfare of the nation cannot be extended for long.

The Supreme Court has sent a notice to the Central Government on the petition of Alok Verma. They have asked the government on the basis of which Alok Verma has been sent on leave. In this case, the next hearing will now be on November 12. During the hearing, the CJI said that in this situation only the case will be heard whether it is the primary case or not.

The Supreme Court has ordered that on the appointment of interim director Nageshwar Rao, the Chief Justice has said that he can not make any policy decision. They will only look at routine work. All the decisions taken by Nageshwar Rao, since October 23, will be handed over to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope.

Asked for 3 weeks time

Attorney General KK Venugopal and solicitor general Tushar Mehta have said that they should be given 3 weeks time for this matter. CJI said to Mukul Rohatgi, who came to the Supreme Court on behalf of Rakesh Asthana, that you have to file a new petition.

A bench comprising of Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SK Kaul and Justice K. M. Joseph, heard all the cases related to the CBI. Niteshwar Rao has been opposed to making the interim director of CBI in these petitions.

It is noteworthy that the CBI filed an FIR against Rakesh Asthana (Special Director) and several others for allegedly accepting a bribe for refusing to name a person named Satish Sana, who was involved in the investigation of Meat businessman Moin Qureshi. DSP Devendra Kumar was arrested a day after this. On Tuesday, the CBI filed a case of extortion and forgery on Asthana after the arrest.

Between the war between the CBI director Alok Verma and the Special Director Rakesh Asthana, the center sent the two officials on leave to the recommendation of the Vigilance Commission. And Joint Director Nageshwar Rao was made the Interim Director of CBI. With the charge, Nageshwar Rao transferred 13 other officers related to the case.
