Dusherra celebrations turn into tragedy in Amritsar as more than 50 people get killed by train

The news of a major train accident in Punjab is coming from Amritsar where around 50 people came under the Amritsar-Pathankot train.

It is being told that this accident happened near the Chauda market. This incident took place when people were standing on the track to see the effigy of Ravan was being burned near the train track. There is a possibility that the train ran over the crowd of people. There is a possibility of a lot of people being killed in this. It is being told that a stampede occurred at the time of the incident.
This incident happened near the Joda gate of Amritsar. Heartfelt photos are coming from the site of the incident, on various social sites. Eyewitness reports say there are bodies scattered everywhere near the tracks. They are saying that the speed of the train was very high, while looking at the crowded areas, its speed should be reduced. The local people are very resentful about this incident.
A lot of people have gathered near the spot and are looking for their near and dear ones. The rescue team has reached the spot. Large scale police force has also been deployed.

The injured are being transported to the hospital. An eyewitness says that the sight of the track has become like the riots during the partition of India in 1947. According to the news agency PTI, a railway official says that to see Ravana combustion near Amritsar, the train has crossed over many people standing on the railway track.
