Kumaon University’s Inter college boxing championship begins in Tanakpur
The inter college boxing competition of Kumaun University has started from Wednesday in the stadium grounds in Tanakpur. The inaugural chief guest, NHPC’s Tanakpur Power Station, General Manager Rais Mian inaugurated the event. During this time the students presented cultural programs along with Vandana and Saraswati songs. In the competition, Boxers of various colleges of Kumaon are participating.
In the first day, Nitish Kumar of Khatima College defeated Rahul of Bageshwar. At the same time, Sandeep of Kashipur College defeated Virendra of Haldwani College. Apart from this, Ramesh Singh of Tanakpur defeated Jagdish Karki of Bageshwar. Ramesh Dhami of Pithoragarh, Narayan of Haldwani and Nitin of Bageshwar defeated Gaurav of Rudrapur in the semi-finals. The operation was done by Dr Pankaj Upreti.
