Local body elections to be held in Uttarakhand in November

Date of municipal elections in Uttarakhand has been announced. Voting will be held on 18th November. While counting will be held on November 20 to decide the fate of the candidates.

Notification of body election has been issued in Uttarakhand. Along with this, code of conduct has also been implemented. State Election Commissioner Chandra Shekhar Bhatt said that the voting process will be held from 8 AM to 5 PM on November 18.
At the same time, the District Magistrate will issue notification for all the districts on October 16. They also told that the elections will be done by the ballot paper. Out of 92 bodies, only 84 bodies will be elected.

This is the election program for Uttarakhand municipal elections

  • The nomination process will run from October 20 to October 23.
  • Examination of nomination papers will be held on October 25 and 26.
  • Name withdrawal will be on 27th October.
  • On 29th October the allotment of symbol will be done.
  • Poll will be on November 18.
  • Counting of votes will be done on 20th November.

Significantly, there will not be election in 3 local bodies due to no announcement of reservation in three bodies. On the basis of a dispute over the formation of the body, members are appointed in place of election in Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. At the same time, the legal angle has been stuck in the case of Selakui and Bhatauranjkhan Nagar Panchayats.
