Mayan calendar doomsday prophecy once again proved wrong

Once again, the Mayan prophecy of the end of the world proved to be wrong. According to the mythological Mayan calendar, June 21, 2020 was the last day of the world, but even after that everything is the same. By the way, this is not the first time that the prophecy of the Mayan calendar has gone wrong, it has happened before in 2012 as well.

In the midst of Coronavirus, the prophecy of the end of the world of the Mayan calendar had worried people. The way the coronavirus is taking hold of the whole world, given the apprehension that the prophecy may come true, people were worried.

The Mayan calendar came into existence in 1582 and before that various calendars were used. The two most popular calendars at that time were Maya and Julian. However, the Gregorian calendar is used all over the world today. According to experts, this calendar more accurately describes the time taken by the Earth to orbit the Sun, while the Julian and Maya calendars have flaws. Therefore, every year, 11 days went on decreasing. If we look at it accordingly, we are not in 2020 but in 2012. In 2012, the same argument was made when the prediction of the end of the world was proved wrong and it was said that June 21, 2020 would be the last day of the world, but this theory also proved to be wrong.

A researcher tried to explain such theory on social media. He wrote, ‘We are technically  in 2012 according to the Julian calendar. Actually, we lost 11 days in a year while coming from Julian to the Gregorian calendar. In this way, 11 days = 2,948 days in 268 years of the use of the Gregorian calendar (1752-2020). 2,948 days / 365 days (per year) = 8 years’. According to this theory, June 21, 2020 is actually December 21, 2012. However, he later removed this post. Significantly, the world was predicted to end on December 21, 2012.
