Uttarakhand government announces Rs 2.50 reduction in petrol prices

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat during an informal talk with media persons at his official residence on Thursday has said that the decision to lower the prices of petrol and diesel by the state government has been taken in public interest.

Chief Minister informed that from midnight of October 4, the prices of petrol and diesel in the state will be reduced by Rs.2.50 per litre. He said that the decision taken in public interest will have a burden of Rs 325 crore on the state.

Chief Minister said that 40 crore litre of petrol and 90 crore litre of diesel is consumed annually in the state. The central government has also announced a decrease of Rs. 2.50 per litre in the prices of petrol and diesel. He further said that by decreasing the prices of petrol and diesel by around Rs 5 per litre, will help reduce the expenditure on transportation and common man will be benefited. Chief Minister said that the decision by central government to reduce prices of petrol and diesel is praiseworthy.
