5 dead, many injured in bus accident in Uttarkashi
A private company’s bus company traveling from Janki Chatti, Uttarkashi to Vikasnagar went into deep gorge near Damta. Five people were killed in the accident, while nine passengers were injured. The injured have been admitted to the nearby hospital. About fifteen people are being told to traveling in the bus.
The accident happened at around 12:30 pm. The bus of the private company was going to Vikasnagar, which was in Jankichati in the morning. Three kilometer before Damta, the driver lost balance in and the bus went into a hundred and a fifty meters deep gorge.
On the information of the incident, Dumta and Naogaon police reached the spot. Together with the local villagers, the police started the rescue. It is being told that the bus fell into the ditch near the bank of Yamuna river. Four bodies were removed from the accident site. Ten injured persons have been evacuated and taken to nearby hospital. Where a wounded man died in the Damta hospital. Search for other people is still ongoing.
