Former CM ND Tiwari meets agitating teachers in Doon

Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, ND Tiwari has justified the guest teachers’ stir, who have been demanding re-appointment under the banner of Rajkiya Madhyamik Atithi Shikshak Sangh in Dehradun.

He reached the protest site at Parade Ground and extended his support to the agitators. He said the Governor and the Education Secretary should accept their demands without delay. The guest teachers have been agitating for several days.

Sangh president Shanti Swaroop Singh said the state government had appointed the guest teachers who were removed all of a sudden after the imposition of President’s rule. “This is unjustified. The guest teachers are experienced.

Reinstate us or face intensified agitation: Teachers to govt

Durgesh Kumar Dandriyal, secretary, Uttarakhand Guest Teachers Association, asked the government to reinstate guest teachers in government schools at the earliest. He said the association would intensify the agitation if the state government did not accede to their demand.

Dandriyal said guest teachers were sacked by the state government without issuing any notice. He said the state government did not take any steps to fill vacant posts of teacher in government schools.

Earlier, guest teachers sat on a dharna at old Raipur bus stand in support of their demand and raised slogans against the state government
