Govt to issue 75 rupee coin

Government announced on Tuesday that it will release a coin of 75 rupees on the occasion of 75th anniversary of hoisting of the tricolor in Port Blair for the first time by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The Finance Ministry has issued a notification in this regard.

The notification states, ” On the occasion of hoisting of the Indian flag by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Port Blair for the first time, under the authority of the Central Government, The coin worth 75 rupees will be made in the government’s coin mint. “

Specialties of 75 Rupee Coin

– 35 grams weight of coin
– In coins 50 percent silver, 40 percent copper and nickel and zinc five-five percent.
– The picture of ‘Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’ in coins will be seen saluting the flag in the background of cellular jail.
– The number of 75 will be printed with “anniversary” below the picture.
– In the Devanagari script and English, the day of the first tricolor hoisting will be printed on the coin.

It is notable that on December 30, 1943, Subhash Chandra Bose had hoisted tri color in the Cellular Jail, Port Blair for the first time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had hoisted the national flag on the Red Fort on October 21 last month and unveiled a plaque on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Azad Hind Fauj created by Subhash Chandra Bose.
