Narcotics department seize 13 cartons of illegal medicines in Roorkee

The team of drug control and narcotics department raided a hotel in the railway overbridge edge on Delhi Highway in Roorkee and seized 13 boxes of restricted medicines. Meanwhile, the team has also detained three people. The value of the seized drugs is estimated to be around three lakhs. The team of Drug Control Department was informed about the supply of restricted medicines in Roorkee. After which the Joint Team of the Department of Drug Control and Narcotics gave its leads to catch the prescription drug suppliers in Roorkee. On the information received from the sources, the joint team got information about the supply medicines in a hotel near the railway over bridge on Delhi Road in Roorkee. The team raided the hotel and arrested three people with two boxes with a banned cough syrup. 11 more cartons were recovered on the trail of people caught. In this raid of the joint team, the three culprits were handed over to the Civil Lines Kotwali with the thirteen cartons worth three lakh rupees.

Three youths arrested with banned drugs in Roorkee will be questioned on Thursday. Officers present in the team said in the interrogation, they will also get information about the supply of medicines supplied. After that those shopkeepers will also be questioned.
