Probe ordered against IRCTC for selling train tickets at higher price

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited, which is better knoen by IRCTC, has millions of people booking tickets online. It has been alleged that IRCTC has taken more money than the right base price for the e-ticket.
The Indian Competition Commission (CCI) has ordered an inquiry against Indian Railways and IRCTC on this allegation. CCI has given this order on the complaint of Meet Shah and Anand Randhara of Gujarat. Both of them have alleged in their complaint that they(IRCTC) are charging more fare through the formula adopted for calculating these two entity base fairs. Explaining this, they said that while calculating the base fair, the total base fare is recovered close to the multiple of 5 rupees. It is alleged that this method is the wrong way to sell rail tickets in India.
In the initial investigation, the Competition Commission has found Indian Railways and IRCTC responsible for violating the rules. Subsequently, on November 9, CCI has ordered an investigation into the investigation branch director general. During this investigation, it will also be examined in the role of any person involved. It has also been said in the complaint that the customer is currently dependent on Railway Ministry and IRCTC for train tickets. In such a situation, there is no other option for customers but to take this service. In the complaint, it has also been  alleged that in this manner of calculating Base Fair, Railways made Rs 18 crore rupees. This money has been taken from the customer’s pocket.
