All airports in India to get body scanners in 2019

Body scanners will be installed for security checks of passengers at all airports across the country from the new year. With this, security officials will not have to check each person personally.

Currently it takes more than five minutes at security check

At the airport, it takes at least five minutes in the security check. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is going to release the guidelines for it soon. This will help the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is protecting the airports, to handle the crowd of passengers.

So far this facility is present in the airports in USA. BCAS President Kumar Rajesh Chandra said that the Bureau will soon be going to issue specifications and rules for this. This is when the trial has successfully completed at some airports in the country.

Increase in the number of air passengers

Kumar said that whatever body scanners will be installed in the airports in India, they will be designed keeping in mind the attire worn by Indians. If a woman wears a sari or a male wears lungi it, it will be easily examined through the scanner.

Such orders have been issued to the Airports Administrators on behalf of the Airports Authority. It has also been included in the airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, whose control is currently in private hands.
